To register a dog born in Canada, the litter must be registered by the breeder first. It
is then the responsibility of the breeder to provide registration papers at no additional cost to the
buyer within six months from date of sale. Once the litter has been registered, the breeder
will automatically receive applications from the CKC to individually register the puppies. The application
must be completed and submitted to the CKC by the breeder, along with the required fees.
